Welcome to 6th grade Tuesday. Please review this syllabus with your child. Sign and return the last page no later than Friday, September 14, 2018. This year the 6th grade team will be using the Remind App regularly to send out text messages to keep parents or guardians current on events and assignments. I will be sending out weekly text messages about homework assignments, reminders, due dates, and upcoming events. Grading Scale and Weights
The chart below is the grading scale for Baltimore City Public Schools. All grades will be on a point system and converted to a letter grade for reporting purposes. I do not round grades up. The grade you earn, is the grade that you get.
A+ = 97-100 | A = 93-96 | A- = 90-92 | B+ = 87-89 | B = 83-86 | B- = 80-82 |
C+ = 77-79 | C = 73-76 | C- = 70-72 | D+ = 67-69 | D = 63-66 | D- = 60-62 |
F = 59 and below |

Returned Work
All assignments should be turned in on time and signed by a parent or guardian. Assignments will be graded as follows:
- First day – able to receive up to full credit
- Second day – able to receive up to half credit
- Third day – no credit
*If a student is absent after receiving the assignment, that day will not be counted towards the due date. Ex. If the student receives the assignment on Tuesday and it is due on Thursday and the student is absent on Thursday, then the due date for full credit is Friday.
Missed Assignments
It is the responsibility of the students to get all classwork and homework assignments as well as any journal notes due to absence as soon as possible. The assignments will be graded according to the grading policy from the day the student receives the work. Students will have to see the teacher for any missed tests or quizzes.
Extra Credit Assignments
Extra credit assignments will be made available throughout the school year. The assignments will be located in the extra credit assignment drawer.
Cheating
Just Don’t Do It!! Cheating is a form of dishonesty and will not be tolerated at all!! Students caught cheating in anyway will receive a zero for that assignment, test or quiz and the assignment cannot be resubmitted for a different grade.
