Vision and Mission

Hazelwood Elementary/Middle School is located in a mixed density urban neighborhood in Northeast Baltimore, nestled between Belair Road and Cedonia Avenue. The school is part of a neighborhood revitalization and is committed to providing a safe school environment for all students to excel academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and ethically. Students, parents, staff, and the community work together to help every child reach their highest potential in order to become responsible citizens and life-long learners.

We offer a variety of programs. We have created a number of nationally recognized partners including Opportunity Culture, NewFit, and Code in the Schools.

Hazelwood Elementary Middle School will work collaboratively with students, parents and the community to create successful citizens who are lifelong learners that strive for academic excellence, self-esteem and mutual respect of others.

NEW distance learning web-page available Monday, April 6

The Maryland State Department of Education just announced that public school closure will be extended through Monday, May 15. Additionally, as a correction, learning packets are not available at City Rec Centers. Beginning Monday, March 30, learning packets will be available at the 18 City Schools meal sites.
